History

Prairie Community Services, Inc. (PCS), a subsidiary of St. Francis Health Services of Morris, is a non-profit organization based in Morris, Minnesota. PCS was incorporated in 1987 and began by serving individuals with mental illnesses in two 16 bed Rule 36 programs.  When Rule 36 programs were being phased out in 2003, PCS collaborated with fourteen counties and public health agencies to place and relocate all individuals in or near their home communities, often focusing on small, rural communities in Minnesota. Today, PCS continues it’s mission by providing licensed services to individuals with Mental Illnesses (MI), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and other related conditions.

Over the years, PCS has developed and operated many programs including Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF-IID), Adult Foster Care (AFC), Child Foster Care, Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS), and many Community Based Services.
